The Tarlac State University community welcomed its president, Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza, during his first appearance as the university’s seventh president at the flag-raising ceremony held at the Main Campus last May 12, 2026.
During the ceremony, Pres. Mendoza rooted his remarks in this week’s value of diligence with focus, and called on TSUians to move forward with renewed commitment and purpose.
“Let us begin again not by abandoning the good we have built, but by recommitting ourselves to do better,” he said.
The president promised to be a "TAPAT" leader—transparent, accountable, principled, accessible, and transformational—as he guides TSU into a new era.
Pres. Mendoza highlighted the words 'naglilingkod, nagmamahal, nagbabago' as the administration’s guiding principles and encouraged the community to walk together with the university’s DALAN.
“We serve, we love, we transform. This is our duty, this is our spirit, this is our DALAN, our path. Let us rise forward,” he emphasized.
Moreover, he thanked the entire TSU community for its trust and support, reaffirming his commitment to lead with gratitude, sincerity, and unity.
“To lead TSU is, above all, to be loved by TSU. And for that love, I can offer only one promise in return: to love you back faithfully in all the days to come,” he shared.
Pres. Mendoza assumed office on May 6, 2026. He previously served as dean of the College of Education, director of the Office of International Affairs and Linkages, and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
The flag-raising ceremonies at the Main, Lucinda, and San Isidro campuses were led by the Office of Governance and Quality Management, National Service Training Program, and the College of Architecture and Fine Arts' Department of Architecture, respectively.
